Eastwood Twelve, located on Mearns Road in East Renfrewshire, is aiming to bring the traditional game into the modern age with a new experience.
Tucked away in a remote part of the Southside, it has become the first of its kind in Glasgow and one of only a few 12-hole courses in the country.
The course’s tee sheet is now live, while memberships are available.

“We’re thrilled to announce the official opening of Eastwood Twelve Golf Club, a new destination for golfers in the Southside of Glasgow,” general manager Samantha Whitelaw told bunkered.co.uk.
“At our 12-hole course, we hope we’ve created a welcoming space for every golfer.
“By blending tradition with innovation, we encompass inclusivity and sustainability to foster a community that loves the game.
“The interest and enthusiasm we’ve received so far has been incredible, and we’re truly grateful for the warm welcome from the golfing community.”
An original Eastwood Golf Club was founded in 1891 before it was relocated from its site in Giffnock in 1936.
Now, it’s been reimagined in 2025, following work at the site since 2022. Nine of the old holes remain alongside one brand new hole, and a few have been tweaked to create the new Eastwood Twelve.
The layout is comprised of five par 3s and seven par 4s, while three sets of tees are available to challenge an array of handicaps.
The existing bridges have also been completely refurbished, and a few new ones have been built.

Meanwhile, the idea of a 12-hole golf course is one that has caught on in England, with six-time major champion Nick Faldo a keen advocate of the shorter format.
He told the PGA in October: “I’ve been pushing that for years and it’s been blooming difficult!
“You go to a hotel, and they say, ‘We want an 18-hole championship course.’ I say, ‘It’s not going to be championship, you haven’t got the room. Why don’t you have a nice 12 holes?’ ‘No, we’ve got to have 18.’ We’ve been fighting that.
“It’s taken 20-plus years but we’re finally getting people to go, ‘You know what? Eighteen is a lot. I can’t disappear from the family for six hours.’
“Pop down, do nine holes. Do 12. I’m a big fan of 12 holes, because you can do two sixes. Do another one and there’s your 18.”
